The children have really enjoyed having Miss Hallam and Miss Redington teaching in our class. The children got to do some Viking or Norse art on top of all the other things we normally do. The children have also had the opportunity to record their Beowulf stories and read them to Year 4 children. Some of the recordings were better than others, and some children still have theirs to record. I was hoping to create a link for you to listen to them but unfortunately it failed, please feel free to come in and listen to them.

The children are getting very excited about their English work this term. We have been working on word groups and how to use these effectively in their writing. This will lead to them writing their own stories around the myth/legend of Beowulf.
The Children had a fantastic day at Young Voices, I am sure they will have shared their experiences with everyone at home. They got to sing World in Union, bebop, join in lots of songs which we had been learning in school and perform actions. Over the first two weeks of term the children have been learning about shape and angles and symmetry. We are also launching our new theme with two afternoons making shields, clay pots and weaving. A very busy start to the new term! |
