We have been learning all about place value in Maths this week and we finished off our lessons by putting together a coded 100 square jigsaw! The children are becoming more confident using mathematical words, such as 'hundreds', 'tens', 'units' and 'digit' and were able to talk about which symbols were in the units and tens place. Even though some of us found this activity difficult, we persevered and with a little help from our friends, we managed to complete the puzzle! The children said they loved the challenge! How would you defeat a ferocious, powerful monster, whose head grows back when you chop it off? That's one of the questions the children have been answering in English lessons this week! After reading myths about Romulus and Remus, we wanted to write our own story about the twins going on an adventure. They were searching for treasure hidden by their uncle Amulius. Unfortunately, the treasure was guarded by a monster! We came up with some 'wow words' to put in our writing, such as vicious, terrifying, whispered under their breath and ferociously. The children did a fantastic job of writing and editing their stories.
