Today, Magpies had a visit from 2 professional musicians. We worked in 2 groups. One group looked at "pulse" we kept a beat by clapping and marching. We learnt how to conduct music. The other group, made a song with the same melody and rhythm as the "Bare Necessities". At the end, we swapped roles and performed our song. These are our lyrics: Look for the frog in the rain forest, The colourful toucan, The black panther, he is not the king. I mean the big mossy tree, The snakes are slithering, All these things you'll find in the jungle! We had a very exciting day today because David came in and taught us Samba drumming. It was lots of fun and cool to learn different techniques on a range of drums. We liked the different sounds the drums made. It was extremely noisy! We had to learn various parts on the drums. We all had a go on more than one drum. We were so good that we performed in front of the school. What do you think about our performance? |
