We have another busy term ahead. The children are practicing for the Mother's Day assembly which has a French flavour to it! They are also making a little something as a gift which links to Saxon and Viking crafts.
It has been lovely to see some of the theme home learning coming in. We have some fantastic helmets and a Saxon poem so far. In English we have looked at play scripts and had a go at converting a narrative into a play script. We have based this around the story of Beowulf as the children know the story so well and it links with our theme. In Maths we looked at measure and used this to find out how long the Saxon ship discovered at Sutton Hoo was and used metre sticks and chalks to mark it on the playground. Theme work has continued with maps and four figure grid references. This term in science we will start work on rocks and soils.
